Safe exit sequence

  1. Confirm that laser output is off.
  2. Disconnect the Mini and wait for the card to show its disconnected state.
  3. Let required export jobs finish.
  4. Exit according to your setting, or exit explicitly from the system tray.

GC-Light Studio blocks a direct exit while a connection remains active. If close-window behavior is Minimize to tray, a hidden window does not mean the process has exited.

Local data location

Local working data is stored under .gclight_studio in the user's home directory by default:

  • Windows: C:\Users\<username>\.gclight_studio
  • Ubuntu: /home/<username>/.gclight_studio

Deleting a saved connection is irreversible. Export data you need before deleting it. Back up this directory separately before an uninstall or upgrade when its local history must be retained.

Deletion and backup

  • Confirm that related experiment data has been exported before deleting a connection.
  • Back up the entire .gclight_studio directory before upgrading or uninstalling when local history must be retained.
  • Do not move or overwrite that directory while the application or an export job is running.
  • Exit GC-Light Studio before restoring a backup to avoid concurrent writes.
